Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort is a jewel tucked in one of California’s great wilderness and recreation areas. High in the Eastern Sierra Mountains where outdoor activities abound, it is truly an incredible place to visit. A year-round destination that shines particularly in the winter months, this gargantuan resort will make your mouth water. There are 3,500 acres of land, 3,100 feet of vertical, over 150 named trails, 400+ inches of snow, 300+ days of sunshine and more than 25 lifts that transports the tens of thousands of visitors. In addition to traditional alpine skiing and snowboarding, the mountain offers 19 miles of excellently groomed cross-country and snowshoe terrain, Snowmobile Adventures through the Eastern Sierra backcountry, and luxurious Snowcat Tours with sweeping mountain views.

Off the Slopes

From dog sled rides and ice skating to snowtubing, mountain tours and even miniature golf, there’s plenty to do when the lifts stop! You must take the beautifully scenic gondola ride that whisks passengers high above the snow-covered Sierras. There is a small village and lodges at the resort, and a wonderful array of ski and snowboard repair shops, great shopping, dining, and drinking options. Getting Here

The area is accessible in all seasons and is just a half-days drive from Southern California or just three hours from the Reno airport. Access from all directions via the scenic north-to-south US Hwy 395, running along the eastern edge of California’s Sierra Nevada Range. There is also an airport that receives flights from nearby airports and eliminates the hassle of renting a car. There are a variety of shuttle services available directly to the resort.
