Exciting Upgrades at Mt. Brighton, Michigan

Mt. Brighton, a Michigan winter ski resort, is already gearing up for the 2015/16 winter season. Located in southeast Michigan, Mt. Brighton has been a landing place for winter sports enthusiasts from the Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and other Ohio areas for more than 55 years.

Having become part of the Vail Resorts progeny, Mt. Brighton has and will be overseeing a wealth of renewal and upgrades to the tune of $10 M. Recent renovations include an intensified learning topography, new chairlifts, an improved children’s ski and ride school, and an independent snowmaking system.

They also appointed a new Ski and Snowboard School Director – Mike Waning. With 30 years of experience in the industry, Waning comes with high credentials and goals. In his words Waning states, “I look forward to teaming up with Vail Resorts and tapping into their resources, continuing to elevate the already state-of-the-art instructional programs available to skiers and snowboarders here at Mt. Brighton.”

Mt. Brighton’s online ticket sales technology has been put to good use. The Epic Pass gives you unlimited visits to Mt. Brighton as well as Vail Resort’s other upscale winter destinations. For a limited time, they’re offering the Go Local and Go West pass for the 2015/16 season. There are many passes to choose from depending on your needs and intentions. Prices are generally secure through Labor Day, at which point they may rise. Get on it if you plan on skiing more than four days there this year, it’ll be worth the investment.

Also new, Vail Resorts’ EpicMix App with RFID technology can be used there, giving skiers and riders access to information such as tracking their day’s activity online, and providing the ability to post directly to Facebook and Twitter to instantly share with family and friends while you’re on the slopes.

Last winter EpicMix Racing was introduced giving participants instant access to their race times and correlating them to Lindsey Vonn’s conquests, which is pretty cool. Racing competitors from beginner to advanced and all in between will receive medals accordingly. All information regarding the races times, awards, and overall finishes will be available for viewing via the EpicMix website or the EpicMix app. Don’t you want to know how you measure up compared to Linsey Vonn, and all the other skiers and riders?
