The mountain at Mt. Abram is a wonderful place for first-timers as well as more seasoned skiers and riders. In total, there are more than 550 acres of terrain, 1,050 feet of vertical, 5 lifts and over 40 trails to explore. The runs are varied and there is plenty of terrain to suit all ability levels, 28% of the mountain is great for beginners, 48% is suitable for intermediate levels and 24% is ideal for advanced skiers and riders. Snowboarders and freestyle skiers love the jib park, as well as spectator-friendly Freestyle Park, which houses tons of hits and natural features suitable for intermediate and advanced riders.
Mt. Abram also runs one of the best ski schools in the area. They offer private, semi-private, and group lessons in skiing, telemark, and snowboarding. The school states, “[in] staying with our non-factory, skier-and-snowboard-centric mission statement, our instructors are trained in making learning fun!” Instructors are carefully trained and lessons are catered to individuals’ ability and stamina. They have a great assortment of learn to ski or ride packages which include lesson, ticket and rentals.
After a fun-filled day on the mountain guests have the pleasure of enjoying excellent après ski options, from warming up by the fire at Westside Lodge or indulging in a cold one at the Ski Country’s slope-side venue, the Loose Boots Lounge. Mt. Abram also features a full restaurant which serves daily starting at 11am. Every Friday and Saturday during the season the restaurant also features great live and local music from 3pm to 6pm.
