Enjoy Spring Skiing at Whistler

For those of you who know spring skiing, you know the feeling of rushing down a slope with the wind in your hair, with coat and hat left at the bottom with a friend. Spring skiing is a blast in any location, but with the friendly atmosphere of British Columbia and the alpine hideaway feel of Whistler village, spring skiing at Whistler Blackcomb is a true treasure.

Top of the World
Whether you enjoy alpine slalom or vertical drops, Whistler Mountain is a beautiful location to start your day. Surrounded by the vast wilderness of the Canadian Rockies, you stand atop the mountain, 1,500 feet above any nearby peak, and nearly a mile above the village below you. If you pick the right spring day, the sun will illuminate the valleys surrounding you and bring joy to your soul. On other days, the cold gray of a BC rain cloud will bring you out of this world and into the timeless fog of another age.

Then you start down the slope.

Miles of Adventure
Coming down the slopes, you begin to take choices: which run to go on, which divergent path in the woods do you head down? With 20 lifts and more a hundred runs on Whistler alone, your options are only limited by imagination. You can run all the way to the bottom before taking a gondola back up, or stop and repeat different runs along the way.

Smooth Ride to the Finish
The greatest part of spring skiing at Whistler Blackcomb is coming down the mountain at the end of the day. Restaurants pull out the grills, music plays outside, and people take off their snow gear and relax, enjoying the warm spring weather.

Coming from the peak of Whistler to the bottom in one ride is a great way to end a day of playing and riding the slush. As the sun slips behind the mountains, you get one last look from the top of the hill, and then drop into the bowl, gaining speed and momentum. Over a mile later, all the different choices bring you to one option: the bottom. Here, you are joined by everyone else on the mountain as you step out of your skis, get changed into some comfy footwear and enjoy the mountain atmosphere, good food and great accommodations at Whistler.
