Canyons Resort in Utah is not only massive, but particularly great for family skiing. With 3,190 vertical feet, it offers fewer black diamonds, which makes riding with the kids less stressful. It also gets 355 inches of average snowfall, turning their 182 trails into coveted corduroy. Runs bordered by wooden fences that cruise under bridges makes for a dynamic ride, as do all three of Canyons’ terrain parks (snowboarders age 3 to 6 should try Burton Riglet Park). For fun runs all to yourself, ride Red Pine Gondola and take your pick. Canyons also offers off-mountain activities—namely guided snowshoeing tours, sleigh rides at dusk, and after-hours grooming tours.
