6 Perfect Après Ski Spots in Breckenridge to Check Out

We all know the feeling after a great day of skiing– you’ve just lugged your gear back to the parking lot with shaky legs, stripped off each extra layer of clothing and tossed it into the trunk, and just as that wave of exhaustion from the day’s fun passes, the thought comes that the only things that could make this day better is a cold, quality beer and some great food. Here are 6 great Breckenridge après ski spots that will make your day on the mountain complete.

Spencer’s Steak & Spirits – Base of the Beaver Run Superchair on Peak 9

Bar none, one of the best places to eat and drink in Breckenridge is right on the slopes at Spencer’s, conveniently found at the base of Peak 9, by the Beaver Run Superchair.  Dinner offers a delectable palette of Colorado game and seafood, along with choice Certified Angus Beef, among the best in the state.  Appetizers and cocktails are available in the lounge, so you can ski in to Spencer’s and be enjoying yourself even before the snow melts off your boots.  All through the day, a full breakfast and lunch buffet is available for quick eats and a full belly.

Empire Burger — La Cima Mall (South Park and Main St.)

More than just a burger joint, Empire offers great apps (do try the wings, you won’t regret it) and beers to go with it. Their signature burgers will impress (the Red Chilli Cheddar burger comes to mind), but the menu is not restrictive– the chicken sandwiches and Baja fish tacos are killer as well. It’s a great environment to spend some time in with other skiers still decked out in their gear. The perfect spot to relax after a day on the mountain, get here as soon as you can, the line grows fast around dinner time!

Kenosha Steakhouse — 301 S. Main St.

While having a diverse menu, Kenosha also carries an impressive craft beer supply. If you’re looking to enjoy some of Colorado’s best brews in one place, with a steak, this is the spot for you. This cozy spot also serves some of the best BBQ in Breck, AND loaded mashed potatoes. You just can’t top that for some après ski grub.

Park & Main Quality Food — 500 S. Main St.

This family friendly brother of Empire Burger serves up a lighter menu with more vegetarian options, while still maintaining an impressive wine and cocktail menu, as well as some carefully selected beers. Stop in off the mountain for an impressively versatile menu, with everything from Pad Thai to pancetta-wrapped meatloaf.

Breckenridge Brewery & Pub — 600 S. Main St.

Known for its variety and quality of beers sold throughout Colorado and around the country, Breckenridge Brewpub is any beer lover’s dream. Not only are their mainline and seasonal beers excellent on their own, but the food is tasty as well. Nothing like a post-ski reuben and a great beer to tie off the day. If you’re coming in later at night, Breckenridge has a great night scene for a mountain town, the Brewpub has a Late Night menu just for you.

The Canteen Tap House and Tavern — 208 N. Main St.

The Canteen has something for everyone, with awesome selection of wines, cocktails, and beers (all from breweries around Colorado, of course). And if you’re even more of a sharing mood with some close friends, their menu has delicious tapas and flatbreads that everyone will enjoy. If you’re looking for a more hearty entrée, not to worry, there is an ample selection of everything–perfect to end the day.
