Enjoy Free Winter Festivities at Blue Mountain

If you’re anywhere near Blue Mountain during the first weekend of February, you’re in for a special treat! Every year, Blue Mountain Resort holds nothing back to celebrate everything they love about winter during the Blue Mountain Winter Festival sponsored by the Cooper Electric Supply Company.

Events include artistic delights with wood carvings by McGuire Concepts and ice carvings by Sculpted IceWorks; snow shoe and tele-skiing demos with Blue Mountain and Eastern Mountain Sports; and photo opportunities on the popular sculpted ice thrones atop the highest peak in Pennsylvania! No party is complete without delicious food which will be provided for purchase by the newly revamped Slopeside Pub & Grill. Hot and tasty breakfast fare will be served by the Waffle Cabin, a family favorite.

To top it all off, the 2015 Challenge will be hosted by the USA Olympic Luge team, and it’s open to the public. Guests can ride a luge on the one and only natural track in the East from 9AM-1PM on both weekend days. Professional luge coaches will be there to provide feedback on each luge, and will also be scouting for new talent! Recruiting for the sport is unique in that scouts must bring the equipment and hunt for potential athletes among those that may have never tried it before. It is an awesome opportunity to fall into a professional sport and earn the chance to compete in the Olympic Games.

The Blue Mountain Winter Fest will be close on Saturday night with a spectacular firework display that guests can enjoy from the outdoor deck at the Slopeside Pub & Grill, or anywhere on the mountain. All of the Winter Fest events and festivities are free and open to the public, and most will happen near the mountain’s peak at the Summit Lodge on Sat Feb. 7th and Sunday Feb. 8th from 10AM – 6PM. Blue Mountain’s trails, lifts and tubing slides will be open and operating from 8AM – 10PM on both days at their regular price.

Grab your friends and family and join in on all the fun activities planned in February!
