Angel Fire Resort Expands Skiing for Families in New Mexico

Angel Fire Resort is expanding its terrain and offering new packages to make skiing with the family even more fun and accessible this season. The resort aims to provide optimal skiing for families by offering quality ski instruction, lots of beginner and intermediate trails and terrain, and affordable packages. The options are plenty, so here’s a peek at most of them (restrictions apply to some, so please refer to Angel Fire’s website for complete details).

A New Terrain Park
Skiers and boarders will gain new ground to play on at Angel Fire’s new terrain park called the The Railyard, located off of the ski area’s popular green run, the Headin’ Home trail. The new beginner park will feature jumps, rails and boxes perfectly suited for those who want to add some tricks and jumps to their shredding skills.

Angel Fire is also moving their nighttime terrain park Night Rider to the front side of the mountain on Exhibition, allowing for better snow conditions. The resort is the only one in New Mexico that offers night skiing and tubing, and lighted terrain parks.

Budget-Friendly Learn-to-Ski Packages
The Parenting Pass – A unique pass that allows parents to coach their child(ren) while they ski. The interchangeable pass allows two parents to take turns skiing with their child in a single day.

To top all of this off, Angel Fire has a dedicated Children’s Chef who cooks up homemade and special meals for ski-schoolers and day campers.

Other winter fun for families
Family diversions at the resort include the Tubing Hill featuring the Polar Coaster conveyor belt that eliminates the hike up the hill. Families can also enjoy a traditional sledding along with the resort’s Snowman Garden complete with snowman making kits and snow art competitions. Snowshoeing, skating and cross-country skiing are offered at The Nordic Center; and snowmobiling, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice fishing as well as indoor pools and two fitness centers in the Village.

It seems that the more people you bring with you to Angel Fire Resort, the more perks you can take advantage of. It gives me valid reason to pack the family and head down for some sliding downhill in New Mexico this year. What about you?
