3 Reasons Why Winter Park Should Be On Your Ski Trip Short List

When people think of Colorado, skiing is almost always at the forefront of their minds. Everyone knows the Rocky Mountains are the perfect setting for amazing winter vacations. But, where should you start when it comes to deciding where to ski? Winter Park is one of our favorites, and here are three reasons Winter Park should be on your short list.  Have fun shredding the gnar!

1. Logistics
Winter Park receives an average of 29 feet of snow each season. The resort spans over 3,081 acres through two interconnected mountains. On those two mountains seven territories connect giving a wide range of runs. Starting with beginner bunny hills and going all the way up to triple black diamond runs, there’s something for everyone at Winter Park.

Unlike some other resorts, Winter Park is unique in the fact that all different types of runs can be found throughout the whole resort. This means that you can take one chair lift and find anything from greens to black diamonds. If your group consists of all levels, splitting up doesn’t necessarily have to happen for an entire day. Instead, more advanced skiers can take a harder run, while beginners can take an easier run and more often than not, they can meet up at the same place in a short amount of time. There are a total of 25 lifts, with 9 of those being fast chair lifts.

2. Lodging
The Winter Park village, located at the base of the ski resort, houses many lodges for visitors. These lodges perfectly describe the term “ski in, ski out” with hot tubs literally seated in the mountain. You can even wave at the skiers as they pass by. The lodges aren’t the only thing found here though. The Village houses restaurants, shops, bars and all sorts of diversions.

For the easy going vacationer, this is a dream come true as you can access anything you want without even having to get in your car. This is a blessing that can oftentimes be overlooked, but with the unpredictability of Colorado weather, you don’t have to be worried about braving the snow packed roads. If a storm is hitting, you can LOL from your hot tub or chair lift and simply think “bring it on!”

3. Packages
Winter Park is big, and large enough to offer some of the best skiing options in the state, along with so many other activities such as snowmobiling tours. They pair their wide array of runs with an awesome staff. This year, Amtrak is offering round-trip rides to Winter Park from Denver’s downtown area so you don’t even have to drive to the slopes. With so many resources, Winter Park can offer affordable packages and ski programs that include lift tickets, lessons, and transportation at a discounted price.
