Snowboarding Zone - Echo Mountain, Colorado:

Riders Guide - Echo Mountain has 70 acres of skiable terrain with 100% snowmaking over 15 trails, with a 10,500-foot elevation and a vertical drop of 660-feet. They have a fixed-grip triple lift, a handle-tow surface lift, and a Magic Carpet. This always affordable resort got its start as all-terrain, but now offers trails and features for skiers, as well. But for snowboarders, it offers beginner features as well as challenging features for the more advanced riders.

Parks and Pipes - At Echo Mountain, more than 40 jib features give riders plenty to be excited about. A superpipe is just the place for the experienced rider to push it to the limit, while there are rails, jumps and boxes that are easy ranging up to super-difficult. Everything's lit, so you can ride or ski at night. Almost the entire park is dedicated to terrain, so this is really a snowboarder's dream park that's only about 45 minutes away from Denver. And the lift tickets are about half the price of other Colorado -area resorts.

Out of Bounds - Skiing and snowboarding are the words of the day at Echo Mountain, so one of the most popular activities is taking a lesson in either or both. With the well thought out and designed learning area, complete with Magic Carpet lift, and the emphasis on urban hip and contemporary styling, Echo Park is really just all about the snow sports. A park-wide sound system and the newness of the resort give it a very modern feel, and the school instructors are able to help everyone start to improve their skiing and riding.

Hangout & Hookup - You can gather at the lodge and enjoy refreshments après-ski or choose a wide variety of nearby restaurants, bars and lounges where you can relax after a day on the snow. There's very much a youthful and family feel at Echo Mountain, but nearby there are plenty of places for cocktails or even fine wines and fine dining.

The Deal - It's easy to get to Echo Mountain, as it's only 35 miles out of Denver. Most major cities fly straight into Denver International Airport. From there, take I-70 West to Exit 252 at Evergreen Parkway. Take that for 3 miles to Hwy 103 and make a right turn. Stay on this for 12 miles to reach Echo Mountain. From the Summit County area and Idaho Springs, take I-70 East to Hwy 103 at Exit 240. Follow that road 18 miles to reach Echo Mountain.
