Red Mountain Resort

Tucked high in the Monashee Mountains, nestled in the crater of an ancient volcano, Red Mountain Resort at Rossland is a Canadian high-alpine haven. Hilly streets, loads of winter snow, and great views make Rossland a natural destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Voted Canada’s Best Ski Town

Many travelers and vacationers come here, fall under the spell of the mountains and become skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor adventurers. Ski Canada Magazine voted Rossland to be Canada’s Best Ski Town. Rossland is home to some of the best alpine and cross-country skiing in British Columbia. Just 1.8 miles from downtown Rossland, Red Resort is blessed with snowfalls that exceed 300 inches annually. Red and Granite, the two mountains that comprise Red Resort, provide 1,585 skiable acres.

Both mountains have ski trails 360 degrees around, providing an endless number of runs with each descent. Red Resort has 4,200 acres encompassing over 88 runs, six lifts, and 2,909 feet (2,072 meters) of vertical drop. The resort’s terrain park has more than 20 rails, fun boxes, and tabletop jumps. There are features suitable for all levels of ability. Red Resort offers fully licensed daycare, restaurants, equipment rentals, lockers, and free guided tours. The staff at the Welcome Center will be happy to help skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts make the most of your Red Resort holiday.

The Big Red Cat ski area offers some of the best-accessed powder skiing in the world. The two cat ski pick-up points are just 10 and 20 minutes from the base of Red Resort. This could be the best “ski tracks per acre ratio” of any snowcat operation in the world. There are about 18,000 acres of terrain and just one snowcat. But no lines and no crowds!
