Get Further Away! Jackson Hole, Wyoming is more than an ordinary year-round resort town. This area, first tracked in the 1800’s, has been preserved from modern urbanization and is known as the Gateway to Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. Taking a trip to Jackson Hole is an adventure that goes back in time when the West was rugged and wildlife roamed freely. The Old West spirit is alive at the Resort and in the town with wooden boardwalks and cowboy hangouts. But in place of roughrider shootouts, the adventures have turned to winter downhill descents and summer sightseeing tours.
In the untamed wilderness of the legendary Teton Mountains vacationers will find an exciting winter adventure at Jackson Hole. For skiers and riders the area has three great mountain resorts - Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee, and Snow King Resort.
The two splendid mountains of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort offer 2,500 acres of wild beauty and a breathtaking 4,139-foot vertical drop. Skiers and riders of all abilities can enjoy some of the most difficult terrain on the continent. Advanced skiers and riders meet their match on the two peaks. But there's also a softer side to Jackson, one where intermediates and beginners are able to have the time of their skiing and riding lives with more than 22 miles of machine-groomed runs.

There are numerous things to do on a Jackson Hole Resort vacation including ski & snowboard lessons, initiated by gold medallist Pepi Stiegler. The ski school teaches all ages how to master the mountain. At the Kids Ranch there are children’s activities for ages 6 months to 17 years and they can enjoy snow-riding lessons while learning about the environment through many hands-on activities.
Just on the edge of town, Snow King Resort is a mere 10 miles from the Jackson Hole
Airport and offers families a pleasant, relaxing vacation experience with both day and night skiing and riding on 31 alpine trails and 30 km for cross-country skiing. A 204 room full service, year-round hotel at the base serves as an anchor for the resort.
About a 45-minute scenic drive north out of the town of Jackson Hole and 12 miles east of Driggs, Idaho lies Grand Targhee, a 2,200 vertical area, which typically receives more than 500 inches of delightfully dry powder snow each season. It's a bit off the beaten tourist track but that's part of the charm, one that becomes priceless if you happen to get socked in during a heavy powder dump and find you suddenly have this mountain playground to yourself.
Many choose to stay in the lively town of Jackson with its cowboy flair and abundant tourist services, or closer to the on-mountain action at Teton Village. In July and August the Grand Teton Music Festival brings a potpourri of talented artists to town to complement the cool mountain air and refreshing waters of the Snake River.
For the adventurous, there is Heli-Skiing; cutting through acres of ungroomed powder is the ultimate rush for the advanced skier and rider. And as you might imagine the sightseeing is unparalleled from wildlife including Buffalo, Elk, and Eagles to name a few to one-of-a-kind mountains that rise nearly 13,772 feet straight from the valleys’ floor.
Planning that perfect out-of-the-way vacation has never been easier. With nonstop flights from eight US cities, the Wild West is closer than ever before.
Dining & Nightlife - from formal dining to beer and Bluegrass, Jackson Hole has it all.
