Alpine Valley Ski Resort

With their 121-Gun Salute at Alpine Valley, making snow is what they do, and they do it well. The resort has 90 skiable acres on eight trail runs, along with three high-speed quad lifts and three additional wonder carpets, giving beginners an easy and short ride up the beginner slopes.

Great Place to Learn to Ski

When comparing skiing in the west to any Midwestern resorts, most people always say, it’s the best place to learn to ski. Some top skiers have come from smaller resorts and when they master the runs at Alpine or Devil’s Head, then they venture out to the more advanced ski terrain of Lake Tahoe or the Rockies. But Alpine does many things right by providing excellent ski terrain, top ski instructors, and three terrain parks. In addition to all that, the proximity to Chicago gives day trips an extra added incentive.

Alpine Valley’s instructors are well-trained and certified professionals who can guide anyone, teaching them to enjoy the sport safely. The mountain’s volunteer Ski Patrol was established the same year the resort was developed, over 40 years ago. Since then, that Patrol has been honored many times, including being named Outstanding Ski Patrol in the Nation. Take this opportunity to learn the basic of skiing, and use their well devised ski terrain for beginners to develop your skills. Learn more about the ski levels and the overall experience of Alpine with Ski Experience. And discover more by visiting Snowboarding Zone.

Alpine also offers plenty of stay and ski packages with 120 rooms at the mountain’s base lodge. Rooms vary from traditional to suite size, with connected bedrooms, living rooms, and shared bathrooms—perfect for a small family. In addition, you’ll get to enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub area after a long day in the snow. The lodge area provides hot meals and excellent beers on tap. It is a resort, giving it an added mountain feel with everything you need in one area.
