Beginners will absolutely love Seven Springs'105 inches of marvelous Pennsylvania snow where they can enjoy a full 14 runs at their skill level. The resort's enormous spread ove 5,000 acres also offers more than enough challenging terrain for intermediates, advanced and expert skiers, making Seven Springs one of the best all-round resorts in the Eastern United States.

If you thought that taking on the challenge of Seven Springs Mountain's enormous halfpipe was enough of a test of your skills, that means that you haven't laid eyes on the jaw-dropping Superpipe at Seven Springs with its 18 foot high walls and full regulation length of 450 feet! This is not a place you want to take the kiddies and after you see it you might not even want to take yourself there! It's one scary pipe! The Terrain Park which is located immediately above the pipe area features numerous ramps, table tops, and enough rails and hits to keep any advanced skiier busy. Be forewarned that this is mostly intermediate to expert terrain and children and beginners may find themselves in way over their skill level. Seven Springs offers an excellent ski school to get those skills brushed up and advanced to the next level up. Besides, there's always ten wonderful tubing chutes where you can hurtle down the mountain no matter how badly you ski!

This part of Pennsylvania is chock full of great resorts such as the nearby Hidden Valley Resort, with 28 slopes evenly mixed with beginners, intermediate, and advanced slopes to create conditions ideal for skiers of all skill levels. When its time to challenge the artificial features, you can try out the amazing 400 foot long Jaguar Halfpipe and enjoy the rails, jumps, table tops and hits in the Jaguar Terrain Park. Keep in mind that Jaguar is a really challenging park and thus not really suited for the neophyte or the kids.

Some of the best family restaurants in the area include the Dimmick Inn, Edelweiss, Francesco's Italian Restaurant, Big Daddy's, Saen Thai Cuisine, Black Bear Lodge, and The Willow Tree. The kids will especially enjoy the Powerhouse Restaurant which is an old coal fired power plant which has been turned into an incredibly funky restaurant!

You have to check out the Pocono specialties at Callie's Pretzel Factory & Candy Kitchen, the amazing museums of: JEM Classic Cars; Pennsylvania Fishing; Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm; Dorflinger Glass; and the Pocono Indian Museum. The Stroud Mansion and the Asa Packer Mansion will give you an insight into the life of the rich and famous a century ago. When and if you're really ready for some wild adventure, Northeast Pennsylvania Ripcords will be glad to throw you out of an airplane so you can experience free fall over the magnificent Pocono scenery.
