Cannon Mountain and Mittersill have nearly 300 acres of skiable land, 9 different lifts, 72 runs and glades, and an 86 acre backcountry area. Cannon Mountain boasts the highest ski area summit in New Hampshire (4,080 feet) and the largest vertical drop in New Hampshire (2,180 feet). The Franconia Ski Club, started in 1933, is dedicated to providing professional instruction in skiing and ski racing as well as sponsors all levels of NHARA and USSA Junior racing. In fact, World Cup winner Bode Miller, is a Ski Club alumnus. The Brookside Children's Center offers full and half day programs and childcare for kids aged one and older.
At Cannon Mountain there is plenty to do beyond skiing and snowboarding. Every Saturday, Cannon Mountain hosts a family fun night. There are numerous ski races and competitions throughout the season. The area has sleigh rides and ice skating, as well as sledding and horseback riding. The Cannonball Pub, located at Peabody’s Base Lodge provides the perfect après ski atmosphere and live entertainment on the weekends. The resort has a retail shop located in the Notchview Lodge and at the Tram Base. As well as a ski and snowboard rental and service shop in the Peabody Lodge.
There is no slope side lodging at Cannon Mountain, but there are many options for accommodation in the nearby towns of Lincoln, Woodstock, Franconia, Twin Mountain, Whitefield, Sugar Hill and Littleton. Getting to Cannon Mountain is easy. The nearest airport is located 100 miles away in Manchester, New Hampshire. By car, the mountain is located within Franconia Notch State Park, off of exits 34B and 34C on I-93, it is one hour from Concord and 2 1/2 hours from Boston, Massachusetts.
