Ski Black Mountain, New Hampshire

A strong ski resort experience isn’t about the number of trails that a resort has or the popularity of the mountain itself. A strong experience relies on the variety of slopes and trails and the approach that is taken to care for them. Black Mountain can provide one of those rare and amazing ski experiences, with a solid variety of well-kept trails and slopes available to skiers of all backgrounds and experience levels.

There are four lifts that will take skiers up to over 40 trails. These different trails are evenly spaced for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers, providing green trails and black diamond trails that are perfect for both the apprehensive novice and the extreme powderhound. There are over 143 acres of skiable land, with opportunities for both downhill skiing and cross-country skiing available. Black Mountain offers a unique and tailored skiing experience.

Anyone worried about après-ski will be happy to know that the mountain resort provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy the company. The Lostbo Pub is known for an incredible pub kitchen and an incredible staff, not to mention, affordable prices and hearty portions. Never packed to capacity, the Lostbo Pub keeps the drinks flowing around a fireplace and couches that allow guests to unwind after a long day of tearing up the trails.

Lodging for Black Mountain is located in the town of Jackson, the same town that houses the Black Mountain resort. Some hotels that you will want to consider for your trip are the Nordic Village Resort and the Snowflake Inn. Many of the villages accommodations promote a variety of discounts and excellent ski and stay packages.

Black Mountain is off of Route 16, as well as Highway 302. Getting to Jackson will require a drive, as it is a decent distance away from any of the Interstates in the area. The drive is worth it, however, as Black Mountain is a truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The sheer beauty of the landscape and impeccable runs of Black Mountain make it one of the best hidden ski experiences in New Hampshire.
