Ski Diamond Peak, California

Diamond Peak is an unpretentious and friendly resort a little off the beaten path in North Lake Tahoe near Incline Village. Renowned for stunning views, helpful staff and great slopes, Diamond Peak offers incredible values on its lift tickets, lessons, lodging and dining each and every season. It’s a smaller resort, but it has a great variety of terrain, an excellent ski school and delicious food options located right on the slopes.

The resort is spans more than 650 acres and boasts nearly 2,000 in vertical. There are fantastic and challenging open glades, great tree skiing and more than 30 runs. 18% of the runs are rated for beginners, 46% intermediate and the remaining 36% for advanced level skiers. Diamond Peak is one of the least crowded resorts and it’s not uncommon for guests to find themselves alone on a run. The resort also houses a great terrain park and excellent beginner area near the ski school.

Past visitors absolutely gush about the quality of the ski school. From beginners and children to older and more advanced skiers and riders, the PSIA Certified Professionals and their excellent teaching techniques will help guests of all ages and experience levels. The Bee Ferrato Child Ski Center is for children ages 3-7. The center is located on a separate learning area which has its own powerline lift and a very low instructor to child ratio. Children enrolled in lessons are sure to receive plenty of attention in the ski school’s crowd free and fun learning environment. Group lessons are for children aged 4-7 only. 3 year olds are accepted in private lessons. Free lift tickets are included with all lessons. For older kids and adults there are several customizable packages based upon ability and age.

All the basic amenities are covered at Diamond Peak and there are a few notable extras. There is a beautiful and spacious base lodge as well as a mid-mountain lodge. The base lodge boasts expansive sun soaked decks, as well as equipment rental and repairs, kid ski center and adult ski and snowboard school, and a great sports shop. Scattered throughout the mountain are several wonderful dining options ranging from quick and casual to upscale and elegant. There is also a beautiful après ski bar. For added convenience, Diamond Peak provides a shuttle service between the resort and town.

The Reno-Tahoe airport is only 35 miles away, Take US 395 South to HWY 431/Mt Rose Highway towards Incline Village. Rent a car, carpool or take a shuttle to the resort and the surrounding area. A delightful and worry free ski vacation is what guests will find once they get to Diamond Peak.
