Red Lodge Mountain Resort - Snowboarding Zone:
Riders Guide: Red Lodge has some of the most exciting snowboarding action available in Montana, or anywhere. With 70 groomed trailed and over 250 inches of snow per year, Red Lodge is the ideal destination for those who love to ski, snowboard, snowshoe and enjoy winter sports of all kinds. The longest run is a whopping two-and-a-half miles, so there's something here for beginners and expert skiers alike.
Parks and Pipes - For beginning snowboarders, the Miami Beginner Park offers maximum safety and maximum fun while you're learning the sport. The slopes are gentle with banked turns, climbing ramps and even an obstacle course that are just right for snowboarding beginners. A miniature race course is also there, along with some brand new features in this terrain park, like several 8-foot boxes and rails.
The Railyard Terrain park has features that will challenge intermediate and advanced snowboarders. New features include street rails, a flat rail, 2 25-foot jumps and new boxes.
Out of Bounds - Enjoying the Red Lodge area is easy, with snowsports in the winter. Chute skiing and snowshoeing are popular ways to pass the time at Red Lodge. And one of the highlights of the area is their snowsports school which can help adults and children alike learn a new sport like snowboarding or a terrain park lesson to improve their skills in a favorite one.
Hangout & Hookup - Per capita, Red Lodge offers more options for dining and après ski than any other spot in Montana, so there are plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy fine cuisine and signature drinks. The Main Lodge offers dining for up to 300 people. The Midway Chalet is an Alpine lodge that offers great meals and drinks, as well as a view of 5 mountain ranges. And the Bierstube, with its burger bar and 13 beers on tap is a great place to meet up after a day on the slopes.
The Deal - Flying into Billings Logan International Airport or Yellowstone Regional Airport, both served by many major airlines, is an easy start to your trip to Red Lodge. You can get shuttle and taxi service to Red Lodge from either airport. For drivers coming from Billings take I-90 W to Exit 434 to Laurel. Then it's a straight shot for about 50 miles on 212 West to Red Lodge and the sign at the opposite end of town.
