Ski Moonlight Basin
Moonlight Basin Ski Resort shares a mountain with Big Sky Resort as well as its amazing dry Montana powder. Skiing in Moonlight Basin is a real experience since the resort is on the north slope, it receives an extra 50 inches for a total of 405. The Lone Peak Pass allows access to the entire mountain, over 5,500 skiable acres which makes it the largest acreage available on one ticket in the entire country. The experts and advanced skiers will make a beeline for the Six-Shooter High Speed Six Passenger Chairlift, the Lone Tree Quad and the Headwaters Chairlift which will take you to some slopes that are so steep they might as well be vertical. The neophytes will be perfectly happy to access the runs more suited to their skill levels via the Pony Express Triple and the Derringer Quad. All experience levels skiing in Moonlight Basin will appreciate Montana's picture perfect sunshine and impeccable winter skiing climate.
Moonlight Basin's Zero Gravity Terrain Park is located on the Runaway trail and boasts an amazing number of features, including rollers, rails, berms, boxes, and tables. Most of Zero Gravity Terrain Park is an intermediate-level park, however, the kids and the beginners have a good selection of smaller features to train on. Moonlight Mountain Kids will keep the little ones busy and safe with day and evening childcare, as well as ski and snowboard instruction for children aged 3 to 5. There is also a full Kids SnowSports School for the older children and a separate one for Adults, so that all ages and experience levels can get the instruction that they need to be their best.
Nearby Bozeman is the place to be for a remarkable choice of dining and indoor entertainment. One of the best restaurants to take the whole family to is La Parilla where you can gorge on Mexican and Italian cuisine for ridiculously low prices. You can enjoy a great meal at La Parilla for about the same the same price as a fast food burger joint, and at least you won't be eating out of a paper bag! Another great, filling and economical choice for Tex Mex is Santa Fe Reds. The kids will love the decor and quirkiness of the Garage Soup Shack and Mesquite Grill; the fine food at Pork Chop John's; the ambiance at the Lewis and Clark Restaurant; and everyone will adore the marvelous cuisine and stunning sights at the Valley View Restaurant.
It is unthinkable to visit Montana on your Moonlight Basin Ski Vacation without taking some time off to explore the astounding selection of National Parks such as the world-famous Yellowstone National Park that stretches across three states! But if you want to stick around Bozeman you'll also find plenty of activities to suit every taste. Keep an eye out for big name superstar concert announcements at the MSU Fieldhouse and Willson Auditorium. You might want to visit the Museum of the Rockies or the Pioneer Museum. The kids might also get a real kick out of the unique Compuseum which traces the history of computers from 4,000 years ago (!!!) to today.
