Riders Guide – The Boyne Mountain snowboarding resort has two mountains to choose from: Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands. Between the two of them, the resort is able to offer the highest vertical available in lower Michigan. It also features mile long ski runs, 111 ski runs, and 850 acres of snow to play on.
Boyne Mountain snowboarding resort offers numerous chair lifts throughout the two mountains, including the only six person chairlift. It also offers the longest magic conveyor lift, which is used for the snow tubing runs.
Parks and Pipes - The Boyne Mountain snowboarding resort offers a variety of terrain parks to suit varying skill levels. There are some easier terrain parks designed for those that are just starting out and trying to get a feel for the sport. For those that consider themselves to be masters of their craft, on the other hand, there are also advanced terrain parks where limits can be tested.
The Boyne Mountain snowboarding resort also offers a super-pipe that is the longest one North America has to offer. Some of the terrain park features include boxes, which are available at varying difficulty levels, pipes, rails, and quarter pipes.
Out of Bounds – When you decide to snowboard in Michigan at Boyne Mountain, you will have plenty of other activities to enjoy as well. In addition to boarding, Boyne Mountain also offers tubing. You can also take in a dog sled ride that is powered by a team of dogs that raced the Iditarod. Ice skating is also available, as is snowshoeing. Snowshoeing opportunities are available for both experts and first-timers, so there are opportunities available for everyone.
Hangout & Hookup – The Boyne Mountain snowboarding resort has won several awards for its dining facilities located at the top of its mountains. Here, you can enjoy some tasty eats while getting to know other boarders. If you are ready for a little romance, you might want to take one of the horse drawn sleigh rides. Or, enjoy one of the many on-snow events that take place throughout the season.
The Deal - Boyne Mountain is easy to get to by air. In fact, the area is considered to be “pilot friendly” and is looked at by many as a fly-in destination. The Boyne Mountain snowboarding resort also includes a 5,200 foot lit and paved jet stripped. No reservations are needed to use the strip and there are no landing fees or charges for parking.
