Silver Mountain - Ski Experience
Silver Mountain in Idaho, features prime mountains, an indoor water park and other activities like shopping and nightlife that make it the perfect place for a vacation. Almost 1,600 skiable areas at the Silver Mountain resort mean that there are slopes suitable for every skill level and desire for adventure. Two mountains are available--Wardner Peak and Kellogg Peak. A gondola carries skiers over the homes in Wardner.
The gondola features 45 towers and over 3 miles, making it the longest gondola system in the world. Current efforts are underway to expand Silver Mountain, adding much more skiing terrain to the already 1,600 feet. Another 4,000 of vertical space will be added as well.
Silver Mountain and Schweitzer Mountain Resort are both located near the Coeur d'Alene, a fun lakeside city. There's a floating boardwalk in Coeur d'Alene that runs for a mile as well as tons of shops and nightclubs. It is also located less than 2 miles from Kellogg, Idaho.
The indoor waterpark is a huge draw for visitors, too. It's the largest indoor waterpark in the state, and is accessible to the people who stay at the lodge. The football-field sized waterpark is kept at a comfortable 84 degrees, and fun for the whole family.
There are a variety of popular restaurants, pizzerias and cafes in the area that offer lots of dining variety, as well as restaurants offering up many different ethnic cuisines. A popular nightspot offers silver mountain drinks in front of toasty and warm fireplaces both indoors and outdoors.
Snowshoeing as well as Alpine, Nordic and cross-country skiing, things like snow tubing, snowboarding and ice skating are popular activities at Silver Mountain.
Shopping is another popular activity in the area. Hundreds of retail shops are in the Coeur d'Alene, where the streets have a cobblestone peel with old fashioned lamp posts and lots of family-owned stores to give everywhere that mom & pop feel. Art galleries, a mall, concerts, fashion shows and book signings are popular here during the busy months. There are coffee houses, ethnic restaurants, specialty wines and liquors and five-star dining to enjoy.
The Village at Riverstone features a Main Street Center that measures over two-hundred-thousand square feet. Dozens of restaurants, retailers and a 14-screen cinema are the highlights of the mall.
With shopping, dining, nightlife and snowsports and skiing available, Silver Springs is the ideal place for individuals, couples and entire families to enjoy their time way.
