Being under 3 hours from Baltimore and Washington, DC, under 100 miles from Pittsburg, a mere 110 miles from Hagerstown (at the intersection of Interstates 70 and 81,) Wisp is a very popular place for locals and visitors alike. In an area where most of this area lacks the snowfall and terrain for a ski resort, Wisp is a welcome enigma. The slopes at Wisp are a comfortable balance; Beginners enjoy 41% of the trails, while Intermediate and Advanced skiers enjoy the majority of the mountain. A fresh 9 million dollar expansion adds 10 more trails and two new Quad Chairs to the northwest side of the mountain, including one new Expert run!
Yes, snowboarding is welcome all over the mountain. Then there's the constantly expanding terrain park, for non-stop excitement! The Savage Half-pipe, fun boxes, ramps and rails (from five to forty feet!), the new Terrain Gardens mini parks, Whip Saw Terrain Trail, Super Pipe, Rail Park, Tubing Park & Kid Zones... The Pro Park and its instant rushes have been moved to the base of the mountain, so the daredevils and adrenalin junkies will have more time to play on them. There's even snow biking, if you think you're up to it! Wisp is a flat out great time for kids of all ages!
Wisp has worked hard to earn and maintain its appeal. Constantly upgrading, this mountain has become famous for quality instruction, gear rental and friendly staff.
