Woodbury Ski Area in Woodbury, Connecticut is a spectacular year-round mountain area offering skiing, riding, snow tubing, cross country skiing and ski biking. Nestled in the beautiful Southern Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, Woodbury Ski Area has the distinction of being the closest Connecticut ski area to New York City and the largest snowtubing park to Manhattan. Woodbury has worked hard on upgrades and renovations in the recent past and is proud to boast a brand new lodge, advanced snowmaking and grooming machines, and newly expanded terrain for both the learn-to-ski program and the terrain park for guests to explore and enjoy.

Woodbury also has the distinction of being one of the first ski area open in the East. This is due to their extensive and state-of-the-art snowmaking system which covers the entirety of the resort’s 100 acres. There are 12 trails evenly distributed between skill levels and 4 lifts that whisk you to the top of more than 300’ of vertical. There is also night skiing and night tubing for added hours of fun. Additionally, there are extensive trails for cross country skiing and a massive 15 lane tubing park, perfect for the entire family!

There are also other services and facilities available on-site including a full-service ski and snowboard rental shop which also carries an array of other gear and equipment. There is first aid, lockers, a scenic deck, Wi-Fi access throughout the main lodge, and a great skate park.

There is no slope side lodging available at Woodbury ski area, but its proximity to town offers plenty of choices nearby. The most idyllic place to stay is The Boulders Inn, an absolutely gorgeous inn on the shores of Lake Waramaug. As far as dining options in the area, there is a cafeteria at the ski area, and Woodbury also has a lot of great places to eat. From casual diners and authentic New York style bagels to high-end Italian and seafood specialty restaurants, there’s something for everyone in Woodbury.

Getting to Woodbury is easy. A variety of public transportation options can take you to and from town. By car, the resort is located just off of 1-84 on Highway 47.
