
Arizona - Snowbowl / Flagstaff - Ski Experience
The Arizona Snowbowl has one of the most unusual and compelling ski experiences in the country – this is a ski resort set amid the San Francisco Peaks, in a place from which you can see the northern rim of the Grand Canyon. The Kachina Peaks Wilderness provides a wide variety of winter activities including snowshoeing nature hikes, cross country skiing and skijoring. The Coconino National Forest is also at the base of the mountain, and the local environment is such that you can enjoy great groomed snowy trails on one day then go down to the ground level and enjoy relatively warm weather of other activities whenever you want to.
The town of Flagstaff is just minutes away from the Arizona Snowbowl, and the Arizona Snowbowl is able to boast one of the most impressive stats in the state of Arizona, with the highest point in the state – Humprey’s Peak – being right nearby. The Arizona Snowbowl by Flagstaff is also one of the oldest continually run ski resorts in the country with its seventieth anniversary coming up soon! Trails are kept groomed with fresh snow constantly being added; on your way down the mountain you can enjoy sunny conditions and vistas of green forests as well as the desert off in the distance below, creating an interesting juxtaposition of different kinds of environments, while at all times you will be able to enjoy your skiing experience on fresh powder. The mountain offers a grand total of thirty two trails which are serviced by four chair lifts. All skill levels of skiers from beginners to experts will be able to enjoy trails that suit their interest.
