Powder Mountain forgoes the gimmicks in favor of good old fashioned skiing. But classic skiing isn’t the only thing that Powder Mountain is famous for, unbeatable value is another element that Powder Mountain is consistently applauded for, voted #1 for best value in the country by the readers of SKI Magazine, the resort has become something of the people’s mountain.

The terrain ranges from casual cruisers to spine-tingling steeps at Powder Mountain, not to mention some of the most legendary backcountry in the state. The slopes and bowls can be accessed in a myriad of ways, 2,800 acres can be reached by lifts, and the only way back to the resort after skiing and snowboarding an additional 1,200 acres is by pick-up from the Powder Country Shuttle. Snowcats and Wolf Canyon Tours transport guests to the remaining acreage. While transportation around the ski area may seem fairly unconventional, the assortment of options helps to reduce lift lines and maximize guest’s exposure to the miles of terrain.

The prospects of such a large resort might seem daunting to newbies and families with young children, however, the resort is more than equipped to facilitate novices. They offer a top-notch ski school, the Powder Club for Kids, uses adaptive techniques to teach children aged 3 and up that the mountain can be fun and exciting while fostering a life long love of snow sports. There are also lessons for older children and adults, the lessons are also catered to all ability and experience levels. Additionally, there is a wonderful full-service ski and snowboard repair and rental shop, a variety of exciting backcountry tours, and much more.
