Located on the north face of Lone Peak in Big Sky, Moonlight Basin has grown into a first class, year round destination resort since its opening in 2003. Skiing at Moonlight Basin offers 80 mapped trails, chutes and glades, making more than 1,900 skiable acres with a vertical drop of 4,150’. Moonlight Basin's terrain is served by six lifts, including Montana's only high speed, six passenger chair.
Due to the unique terrain, nestled in an ideal section of the Rocky Mountains, Moonlight Basin's elevation and northern exposure allows for dry, light snow to fall. In all, over 400 inches of snow falls each year and stays around longer, creating conditions like no other.

Getting to the Resort area is simple If you’re flying, you’ll simply land at Bozeman’s Gallatin Field Airport (BZN), which is about an hour away from Moonlight. Gallatin Field is served by Delta, United, Northwest, and Horizon/Alaska airlines, so plenty of options exist. Plus, in the winter you can get direct flights from Seattle, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Denver, Detroit, Atlanta, and Chicago. If driving, take 84 West to 191 South out of Bozeman and you will be there in less than an hour.
